la-based
mix + music post house

Nice Manners is a music and audio post house nestled in the hills of Mt. Washington, Los Angeles. It was founded in 2011 by trusted composer, sound designer, and post mixer Joanna Katcher. NM’s work has been part of Emmy winning series, BAFTA-nominated games, award-winning docs and all manner of comedy. We believe in creative partnerships, quiet confidence and never sacrificing beep for bop - we just won’t do it.

FILM

We love film and have been lucky to work on a slew of docs, comedies, and narratives — including the award-winning documentaries After Antarctica and The Remix: Hip Hop x Fashion. It's always a gift to be asked to create culty and virginal (NSFW) sound design, so thank you, Wander Women. And it's always a cult that asks you to write unhinged music, so thank you, Far Cry 5.

Movie poster for "Wander Women" featuring two women in white cloaks holding a "Kingdom of Fun" brochure, with a colorful gradient background, text "Out of the cult, into the chaos," and Beverly Hills Film Festival selection notice.
Collage-style poster for "The Letter League" featuring a smiling woman with glasses in the foreground. Surrounding her are vintage illustrations including a postal truck, mailbox, women with letters, a bird with an envelope, and the text "Stories of connection in a disconnected time." The background resembles lined paper.
Silhouetted skydivers in free fall against a dramatic sunset sky with scattered clouds.
Poster for the documentary 'Survivor Made' featuring multiple people, with focus on a woman wearing sunglasses reflecting the U.S. Capitol. The text includes a release date of November 22 and mentions songs by FKA Twigs. Executive producers listed include Padma Lakshmi and Roxane Gay.
Colorful poster for 'It's Not a Burden,' a film about caring for elderly parents. Features a painting of a person pushing another in a wheelchair past a carousel. The tagline reads 'The Humor and Heartache of Raising Elderly Parents.'

shows

You’ve heard our work in Emmy winning series, bingeable favorites, and a few shows that make us cry (TBH, we typically cry through most shows). Whether stories about justice, history, or an adorable tone-deaf CEO, we’re here to help handle your post sound, mix and music. We promise to do it quickly, expertly, and without adding to the chaos.

Commercial

Over the years, we’ve been lucky to mix and score thousands of promos and commercials — for networks, studios, and the creative agencies behind them. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that there’s something grounding about a familiar refrain: “Next Monday at 9… Monday at 9… Tomorrow at 9… Tonight at 9…”. Let us help you with your next campaign.
